Types of Pella Patio Doors

Pella Sliding Patio Doors

Standard sliding patio doors ($$-$$$$) are made in the widest range of materials – wood, fiberglass and vinyl.

These are the most common sliding door types. They’re produced with one sliding panel and one or more fixed panels.

Architect Series Sliding Patio Doors

Pella Wood sliding patio doors are produced in two series, the Architect Series and the Lifestyle Series. The Pella Architectural Series is also called the Traditional 850 Series ($$$-$$$$). It is made in two sub-series.

The Pella Architect Series Traditional wood patio doors boast styling typically found on fine wood furniture. Frames are beefy and energy efficient.

This brochure shows hardware, grille, screen and glass options plus Pella Insynctive security equipment for these doors.

The Pella Architect Series Contemporary wood patio doors, aka the Architect 850 Series patio doors, feature slimmer frames for modern styling and a less-obstructed view. The hardware is, in Pella’s term, “minimalist.”

Both Traditional and Contemporary Series wood patio doors are produced in:

These wood patio doors ($$-$$$) are an affordable option for any home. This makes them Pella’s most popular sliding doors.

  • Pine interiors are available in 11 stain, paint and primed options
  • 13 exterior aluminum cladding colors are offered
  • 6 hardware finishes include paint colors and metallic finishes like oil-rubbed bronze
  • Additional accessories include integrated blinds and shades, a variety of grille patterns, multiple glass packages to fit your climate and Pella’s integrated security system – Pella Insynctive

Pella Fiberglass sliding patio doors are known as Pella Impervia doors ($$). They feature Pella’s “patented Duracast fiberglass.”

Features include:

  • 5 powder-coat paint finishes for interior and exterior with the option to have different colors (dual-color finish) inside and outside
  • 10 hardware colors include paint colors and metallic finishes
  • Climate-specific glass/glazing packages plus a handful of grille patterns complete your accessory options

Pella Vinyl Patio Sliding Doors

Pella Vinyl patio sliding doors are offered in three subseries: Pella 350 Series ($$-$$$), Pella 250 Series ($$) and Encompass by Pella, formerly ThermaStar by Pella ($-$$).

  • Pella 350 Series vinyl patio doors are offered in White and Almond interiors and 11 exterior colors with 6 hardware colors. Linen fabric shades and between-glass blinds are available. You can choose no grilles or grilles in multiple styles including between-the-glass true divided light. Several glass package and screen styles are produced.
  • Pella 250 Series vinyl patio doors offer your choice of 3 interior and 9 exterior colors. Hardware, glass and blind options are similar to the 350 Series but slightly more limited. This is a very popular series of Pella vinyl patio doors.
  • Encompass by Pella vinyl patio doors are a builder-grade door popular for remodeling projects on a budget. 3 frame colors, 6 hardware finishes and a range of glass/grille/screen options allow you to customize the look and performance of your vinyl patio door.

Sizes – All Pella vinyl patio doors are available in standard sizes from 46Wx70H to 95Wx82H. The 250 Series can be produced in custom sizes.

Pella French and Hinged Patio Doors

These gorgeous patio doors are offered in two wood series: Pella Architect Series, aka Pella 850 Series, and the Pella Lifestyle Series.

In either, your options are two movable doors that open from the sides in traditional French door fashion, one moving and one fixed door or a single door.

The Architect Series ($$$-$$$$) is produced in both Traditional and Contemporary subseries.

Pella Bifold Patio Doors

These are multi-panel doors that function like most bifolds – they open and fold together to the right and left. Pella calls them Pella Scenescape bifold doors and backs them with a lifetime limited warranty.

Door design and configuration of Pella bifold patio doors: Door assemblies start with two panels and range to 10 panels – 3 feet wide to 26 feet wide. Plus, you can configure the panels any way you want. For example, if you have 5 panels, they call all move to the right or all move to the left, or you can break it up another way – 3 left and 2 right, etc.

Pella bifold patio doors are produced in Pella’s top series only, the Pella Architect Series, aka the Pella 850 Series ($$$-$$$$).

Architect Series Traditional bifold doors boast muscular frames with a good range of hardware, grille and glass options to customize their look.

Architect Series Contemporary bifold doors have cleaner lines, thinner frames and give you the widest possible view of the outdoors.

Multi-slide Patio Doors
